I have worked for numerous coppers and all have talked about drinking and driving as if it was the norm ? One rule for them and another for the masses ? Trust me when I say a copper is never off duty :sneaky2: Always let there own off the hook .

Oh yeah ,I had a £380 fine so they made there money too. I'd love to throw a few words about them around but won't . Purely to give the moderators a break!! They know what I'm like anyway

I must admit I don't have a lot of sympathy for drink drivers, my old man owns a recovery firm with a police contract... Only the other week a car came in driven by a drink driver who hit some poor fella... Needless too say it was a fatality. I don't mind if they hurt themselves it's their own fault, but when others are involved it's not their fault and it's even worse when they drive there next morning after a massive binge up the night before then plead ignorance. No I don't drink my self just in case someone has a dig ;)

Tee total me, but I know someone who was self employed and lost his licence. He was in the pub every day from midday, and the barmaid tipped off the old bill.

He ended up employing a fellow bar propper for £80 a day to drive him around

Having one or two on a work night is no real biggy IMO. But be careful, I got pulled at about half six on a Sunday morning twenty plus years ago, breathalised (sp) licence lost for 14 months, can't remember what I blew but it was enough to get me banned.

I'll add that the Saturday before was an all-dayer that end at about 9pm.

I have an addictive personality, I know that if I started having "just a pint" it would've soon be "oh ok, just one more then" and then " sclluuuurrr blluuuuuuuurrrrgh goin home now" at 3 in the morning. So that's why I always set myself a no drink rule on weekdays. Now it's no problem.
