Trimax do a decent range, we have had 3 of there biggest procut mowers but the last one was a let down build quality wise, they are pricey compared to wessex though

thanks for info there ezemow looks good on the vids, be interested in trying one, have sent them a email see if i can have a demo.

concerned with flails it will leave tram lines if a bit long.

looking at a fleming as well they do them with mulching blades.

will let you know how it goes.

Can't help you I'm afraid, but be interested to see the suggestions. Is it possible to get one PTO powered mower that will do a reasonably neat job on a lawn but will also tackle rides, thistles, brambles, small saplings etc?

Flail mower is what your after. I had a demo of one last year it had a roller on so you could get a nice striped finish. You could adjust the roller position to adjust the cut height. Did ok on courser material such as bracken and bramble.

I'd of had two sets of flails though one for neat grass cutting and one for doing rides as its very easy to hit a log and chip a boot flail.

Major grass care do what you're looking for although not sure 20hp will lift one with rollers and they will tackle any kind of material and dice it up fine or try spear head for a variety of finish cut flails

I had a wessex once. Never again. It ate belts like no tomorrow, kept losing pins on the height adjusters and wessex never had either in stock. I brought a port agric which was direct drive, but they have now gone bust. Trimax are good, but not used one myself
