I used a Bobcat 325 with a thumb a few times, it was very good, the guy who owned it had a rake for it too, it was made from a simple bar with the tynes from a muck grape bolted on very good for picking up brash without catching loads of soil etc.

I used to have this climber come in with his log truck. Logs could be loaded at any time of the day - keeping the site clear, making it easier for brash clearing. And as soon as we were ready to load we could, instead of waiting on some builder`s grab truck that may or may not show up.

Tree Man Tom, could you show us some pictures of that in action and in transit?

cheers. nick.

These the best photos i got. The last one was abit of a laugh :001_tongue:

Also it has a hydraulic winch on there so if you cant quite reach the timber, you just winch it towards you.

id rather slice and dice on site personally.....but only because if i get it carted back to the yard as trunks it ends up sitting about and i never find the time to cut it!! as Peter will testify as hes seen my yard.

Having said that though, it makes a lot of sense to cart wood in lumps and sometimes its the only feasable way of getting a job cleared up in time, particulary distance work
