1) I love the fact that any compliments about my company directly (or more usually) indirectly reflects on 'things' I have done.

2) Also love the fact if anything goes wrong, it is my fault indirectly (or more usually directly). This should stimulate me to improve things, which links back to 1).

When you are employed you have ONE employer. If things go belly up that employer can decide to 'let you go'.

When you are self employed you have HUNDREDS of employers, sometimes 2 or 3 a day.

It is statisticaly impossible that ALL your employers would decide to let you go. This actually gives you a lot more security than you may think.

There's also the buzz of getting back what you put in.

It is a lot more time-consuming, I recon to do 10-15 hours each week quoting, paperworking and maintaining the kit. On top of that Mrs Tree does the accounting.

Overall it's the freedom and speed of decision making that I enjoy. i could never go back to all that corporate pollox.

If you know what you are doing and work for a price that suits you and your customer then everybody is happy.

For days like today when its chucking it down I can look outside and go nah! In all seriousness I like it because all the effort and investment I put in I get back 100% for my own benefit rather than someone else's.

Although sometimes I think if someone were to offer me a no hassle full time job, just turn up crack on with a days work and go home not having to worry about anything else, would seem quite appealing!

That's funny, I look outside on days like this one an think "I'm gonna get wet today..." the joys of farming livestock! still enjoy it though! even when it's Pi**ing down:thumbup:
