Running two trucks

I have a fleet policy through a broker underwritten by lycetts. Costs about £1k for a discovery 3 and a defender 130 tipper. Photos of the defender were sent to the broker along with a mods list (winch, suspension, minor engine mods, rear tipping box body). Copies of these were returned to me signed as proof they know what they are insuring.

Discovery has 4 named drivers and full business use, defender is any driver when used in connection with the business.

Do you have your public liability with them? They would only insure me up to a height restriction of 6metres.

We were with NFU for years, one year we renewed and they added the 6m clause without telling us.. Don't normally bother reading the small print when we renew so nearly missed it.

We still use them for our 4 vehicles..

NFU simplzzzz, customer service beats the rest hands down, talk to real people (all be it scottish)who speak proper english best move I ever made!!!

I'm not keen on their call centre! I deal with their branch in skelmersdale and it's even better. Had a car quote from the call centre for £1200. The branch was £600!

All our vehicles are NFU. Have been for years. Mutual bonus and all that. Landy, Isuzu, transit, tractor, Navara any driver over 25 and me named puts it up a touch but its £800/month.

We have never had bad dealings with NFU and will stick with them. Know the branch manager personally too!
