I've rescued cat before , Rspca couldn't help, to far off road for fire brigade , felt good to do something good, hate to see suffering of any living thing , owner was very grateful and insisted I took some money for my time , maybe £30 so I went to pub and spent it on Guinness ! Happy ending

last one i did cat made a leap of faith, from the top. broke its back legs and pelvis. owner nursed it back to health only for it to run up the same tree again within a week of being alowed out!

I rescued a kitten once, the owner asked how much so I said for them to make a donation to the Kent Air Ambulance. What comes around goes around and I'll be happy to see that helicopter if we ever need it!

Feels good to help others when you can.

There seems to be no evidence that cats get stuck in trees......it's our interpretation of their choice to be up a tree...leave em alone.

See similar thread a week or two ago!

Cats need to come down backward, their claws won't work going forwards. Some cats know this some don't seem to. I had a cat that could climb any tree and descended backwards with great skill, I've had others that did not have a clue and needed rescuing.

Often cats run up a tree due to fear, being chased by a dog, etc, and are then trapped in what is an alien environment to them.
