caritool here too........its annoying on a treemotion tho as it keeps poppin off where its supposed to live, was far more secure on my dragonfly.

Used to have the same problem on my tree flex, discovered that a piece of inner tube does the trick nicely

I've a TreeMotion and use both cari-tools and bent gate karabiners; I've had a number of the cari-tools break on me when climbing up through conifers and other tight crowns hence the move to the karabiner option.

I use a spring gate krab that's really stiff so you can keep it as an open hook, makes life easier

I made a great chainsaw hook from the metal off a shopping trolley handle! It's already shaped perfectly and pretty much just needs cutting off and fitting.

It's always open so makes for easy on and off, saw never falls off when swinging about either!
