cscs card

Im looking at doing some more training so to speak. was thinking about a cscs card for work on building sites i did have 1 years ago for an operative when i did building work but ive just looked on cscs and they are saying for tree climbing/chainsaw work i should turn to BALI is this the same as cscs?

Stay with CSCS mate, when I called BALI they came over like a right bunch of amateurs

It's because arborist/tree surgeon isn't listed as a trade on cscs so you are supposed to go through bali and get a liss card but before you can do that I'm pretty sure you need to do rolo training which is quite expensive. Both do the same thing so it doesn't matter.

i dont understand why on cscs if your a tree/vegetation clearance operative you can go through cscs but chainsaw/tree climbing you cant???

Because its a money making scam. Its ironic that alot of people who are on the dole could potentially work as laborers on building sites but you have to pay to do a test then pay for a card. You also can't just go and do a test and get a card you have to have someone who has a higher card already or a company to say you are right for a card. The ROLI bit is even more of a scam of the money variety.

Since when, I lost my card last year and the quickest way to get another was just to re sit the idiot test.

 

I booked it paid myself, sat the test and got the card in the post the next day

I did the cscs card years ago you could pass it even if you did not understand a word of english. I put several of my men through so we could install a generator on an irish site. The job was delayed 3 months by that time they had brought out a new test and ours was invalid a blind one armed monkey could pass it. completely point less waste of time and money.
