The Mower Bench

There are lots of stories and I expect very few know the true one, not that it really matters.

The way I have been told, although it was so long ago I do not know who told me was thst Kaaz used to make the Honda mowers on contract for Honda but Honda decided that they wanted to start building them themselves and part of the agreement between Honda and Kaaz was that Kaaz could start producing their own products using the same design (probably a Kaaz design anyway) after they parted company.

Whichever way you look at it, most users would agree that the older (Kaaz) mower is better than the newer Honda.

But to be fair, the Honda is not too bad either.

Are Kaaz are still selling their varient? Mine has Lawnflite, Kaaz and Honda labels on various parts of it

Yes, They are marketed in the UK by Danarm.

They have 19" and 21" models with, and without Rollers. Standard and Pro spec machines.

The 19" ones sport a Kawasaki engine, whilst the 21" have the Honda GXV160

Always tip the mower towards the oil filler, otherwise the oil will end up in the air filter and carb. Threads are always normal AFAIK, like angle grinders. Folk often think they need to be reverse thread to stop the blade coming off, but that's not the case.

Good thread, can see me coming here often. I picked up a husqvarna M53s pro for £80. Gave it a little clean up, sharpened the blade and it does a good job. Front wheel drive felt weird for a start. Its got the Honda GCV engine and also suffers from hunting. If I push the throttle lever all the way forward to the choke position it runs fine but pull it back to where it should be fast and it is all up and down. Is it likely to be the carb?
