It's OK if you like the look of it because without major up-grading that's all it would be good for.

It will always look great, but if it's a 3.5tonner it will be useless for work.

If you really like it then buy it, clean it up and use it for advertising and shows.

As previously stated. Turning circle of a super tanker.

Yep if you have ever driven one especially round a mini roundabout you would probably never buy one . Domestic tree work in this vehicle = Nightmare . Parking ,Reversing is a total ball ache : ) This is just what I have observed over the years . Still the six wheel owners think they are so valuable and to be honest they are often more of a hindrance when bought . Don't let your heart rule your head . They look cool and that's it really :001_smile:

It has huge potential but not as a serious load carrying truck.

I might be going over old ground here but would it need an O licence if it was uprated, surely it's under a dual purpose vehicle ?

It probably isn't a Dual Purpose Vehicle because the unladen weight is likely to be too high - over 2040kg ulw and it loses DPV status.

true on weight would not be able to carry much but it's not a every day tree motor as got the mog for bigger jobs would be used smaller tree jobs fencing and stump grinding

I think I was thinking on lines never getting stuck looking like the biz

think it will be a no go was not even looking for a truck just seamed a good idea first time

Hi

We have a Land Rover 300TDi, I would say it depends if you want to buy it for a restoration project or use it commercially. If its the later then I would avoid as you could end up spending more time working on it than cutting down trees.

But just my thoughts

I know some one who has the same thing, his is plated as a 4.5 tonner I think,

his is now 4 wheel drive after the diff in the centre axle with the through drive broke and it was a very expensive repair as they are a bespoke build, just make sure it all works. get it plated to 4.5 ton and you have a great distinctive arb truck...
