I know nothing about servicing etc. I just put diesel, oil, water in mine and tyres when needed.have new glow plugs in tomorrow ready for the cold shape should have a service really but it's going just fine so won't bother yet.

Hilux (base model Post 57 plate) just looking myself for one and there not at a bad price at the moment. If you starty looking at the higher speced ones the price does fly up.

I ran one contracting down south towing a tracked chipper each day, good on fuel and faultless.

Wish I'd never sold it.

Ya I should really but on the occasion when had it serviced it never seems the same. Silly I know but have had my work truck 12 yrs now and it sounds made but it's almost like it does't like anyone messing about with it. Bit like that film, CHRISTINE.that film bout that spooky car?

I've got a 56 plate ranger and would advise you to avoid. Soft drive trains and plenty gremlins aboard.

The older shape rangers ( an 06 plate low mileage one ) where good ponies.

56/07 plate ones avoid (my neighbor has an 07 plate and says it's just as bad as my one.)

A friend had a 56 plate on also, for 6 months. In that time she spent a fortune on the gearbox, clutch, flywheel like I did but her engine also went pop. It had done 44k at the time she just got rid.

For for sale 56 supercab 88k one careful owner £6000! Hahaha

Rangers are good... Late ones don't hold there money well so can be had for a good price. I've also owned an L200 which i ran from 23k to 99k with no problems. I'd say the newer the better as you'll get possibly more in cab toys and almost certainly much better fuel mpg. Search on the bay, there are hundreds on there or if you know someone thats selling one then that may be an option. One thing to say is look after it, don't rag it around and keep up with the servicing.....
