Babe, I'm not trying to ban anything least of all sex, video games, The Mask or even porn (I'll be the first on the barricade if they try and ban sex....or indeed porn). Not sure where I said that in my post. PMSL at the cosmic vibe jibe.....so not me. Don't feel so threatened that you have to resort to cliché....would love to buy you a pint or 5 to explain. PS. The Mask is not a great film. Check out her other work....and indeed what she's had to say on the images of women in the media. X.

I think it's blatant sexism, and not appropriate.

 

I also think it's a nice picture of a good-looking girl...

 

I have two daughters, that are growing up in this age of photoshop and insanity, vanity and completely unreasonable expectations of what girls should grow up to look like.

I'm not saying that pictures of pretty people should be banned, I'd much prefer looking at a pretty person than an ugly one, but time and place appropriateness is vital for our childrens (of both sexes) to grow up into well rounded individuals with a realistic view of what people look like.

I wonder how many of the people complaining about this advert also turn off a movie if a sex scene comes on?

 

I will....If its sexual abuse,rape or domestic violence orientated scenes.

 

Comes from knowing several people who have suffered from those experiences.

Hey Steve....my dad in the 60's used to turn off the t.v. when 'playtex 18hr girdle' advert came on. I'm glad he saved me from them early days of smut. Otherwise what kind of person I may have been:001_smile:

Does the ad make me want to buy a bar? Not at all. Does it offend me due to content? Not particularly. Does it p me off that the ad designer thinks it would make me rush out to buy? Well yeah it does a little.

I think if you tried hard, that you could find offence at most ads be it for whatever reason.
