Can't take credit for this one, watched Dan Curtis use this to good effect. Tie a slip knot and clip a throw bag onto the rope above the knot. Will add enough weight to the system to allow you to climb SRT from the ground and a groundie can easily remove it.

that or a bungie cord around a few rounds also works.

take a tarp out if your in the woods that you can throw over your gear if it starts wetting it down - aslwell as gives you a dry place to sit.

always have a spare pair of socks

spare chains as said above. and a really bad one incase you need to work near old metal in tree/

Oh and always offer to sharpen a saw if you use one that is not yours - 9/10 times theyll turn you down but common curtesy.

The times ive seen someone start to cut a connie hedge thats been rained on overnight,or cutting in the rain, and getting covered in water droplets off it before they've done 10 yards.

Before you start, just get the leafrake and wack the fonds for a few yards, that way the water off the hedge will fall on the ground and not down your neck.

That's what the blowers for

Always have spare food in your climbing bag, just incase.

Ring up timber on a tarp not on the gravel drive.

Overprice thorn topping jobs ;)

Don't get court pissing behind the shed.

A little through bag On your harness then clip to rope end when throwing and it will pull it back down easier.

Pay the little bit extra and get heated handles on your saws, you won't regret it!

Have a spare rake for cleaning over concrete/tarmac etc.

Keep the good one for grass only and it will last 10 times longer.

I haven't bought a new rake in over a year, and all the team watch out for rake abuse (using the grass rake on concrete).

When mixing 2 stroke petrol ALWAYS put the oil in first - if you lose count the worst is you have an oily mix.
