Water bottle

No mate, you didn't say it would kill you, but I remember Evian or someone saying something vaguely similar. (And that the water originally in it from Evian or whoever was fine in there for ages, but you shouldn't put tap water in it).

Seemed a bit bonkers to me, but maybe there's something in it after all? I suppose if they bottle it without any air in it, a reaction might start when it gets air added to it along with the new tap water...?

How come evian is filtered through volcanic rock over thousands of years then they put it in a bottle and put a sell by date on it ? I use an aluminium bike bottle, I know aluminium can cause Alzheimers and dementia but it's a risk you have to take, either that or turning into a girl. What do you do ? :D

I was a bit concerned by this because I re use bottles and freeze them in the summer.

It seems to be nothing more than an urban myth and if anything, freezing the plastic less likely to cause harm

Cancer research UK is probably the most unbiased authority you could want and they say this

Is there any truth in the claims?

There is no convincing scientific evidence to substantiate these health warnings against plastics. In the UK, there is legislation in place to ensure that all materials that come into contact with food, such as containers for pre-packed food, are thoroughly tested before they can be used.

You should be worried about this.

My suggestion to avoid turning into a dementia riddled girl it to simply drink Rum from a glass bottle.

Don't forget, I am a surgeon.

:001_tt2:

I will trust your word because you are a surgeon, will it be OK if I drink malt whiskey instead? I promise it will be in glass

Lots of research to show that polymer migration does happen and has been causing problems since we started using plastic bottles. Have you ever wondered why squash taste different out of glass bottles. One of the specialists looking after Fred has written a paper on it makes for depressing reading.
