It just has a habit of eating starter paws more than 560's usually do as there's to much compression!! , lucky to get 30 hours out of one. [ATTACH]199579[/ATTACH]

Auto tune is a bit lumpy on this saw but its been rebuilt a few times and its a very early saw so I don't think it's the port work, in all it's an animal and pretty frightening freshly sharpened with an edge off the rakers

 

Hope you are using the decomp! Those pillars look a bit soft, probably worth pulling the saw lightly to just before TDC and then keep pulling rather than snatching the start against the starter mechanism like we would normally do!

 

May get a few more hours out of them then - sounds like that compression has improved some:thumbup:

Why don't you ask around, see if anyone with a lathe could make you one in aluminium, depending on whats on the back to attach the spring it could be quite a simple turning job.
