Next time we meet I'll bring my ported 357 Wayne. The Stihl equivalent I guess would be the MS361.

A Joe I thought you were a stihl man? With that 460 hanging from your hip. Always open to new stuff and giving it a chance. Just like orange I guess. The 361 is ok not a lot really between it and 260/1 just more to throw around. And ya will have to surely get it sorted to catch up again and make it happen rather then waiting for it to.:001_rolleyes:

I was :) I still prefer the stihl topper over Husqy, but there's something about Husqy ground saws I can't put my finger on. Smooth power and they seem to handle a lot better.

I like good saws. The 460 is ace, I wouldn't say I'm loyal to either brand.

I wouldn't know mate. I assume it's the Stihl 390 you're on about? Spud did the work on my saw, so he'd be the one to ask. There are others who do similar work.

I think the 390 was aimed as a farm saw though. If I had to say, I'd go with get rid and replace with a pro saw. What size bar do you run it on?

I get the impression you don't mind spending out on good kit :)

Old 18" don't tend to use it much. Joe you are right bout kit but have never brought a brand new saw, nearly new but not from a shop. Been lucky so far. And just might look for a good reasonbley priced husky equivalent.just brought new harness so have to be next purchase.

I've had some rotten luck with s/h saws. I'd only buy new now, unless the saw I was after is no longer produced, as is the case for my next saw.

If what you have works for you then grand, but I can't abide doing a job with a piece of kit and thinking, "it would be so much quicker/easier if I'd bought this instead"!

That's a good way to be and like I said have been lucky. Was thinking of getting another 260 got my eye on one so see what occurs.
