I have a mate bob, who has an a reg Volvo f88 that has done just over 3 million now,

 

If you are on the roads generally travels between sawmills, Newcastle, Banbury, South Coast.

Green Timber trailer with massive crane you cannot miss him, big side burns.

 

Give him a wave

 

Will get a pic next time I see him

 

Some one else on here must know him absolute leg end!:thumbup:

 

 

Your man Bob Carmichael made it into the Classic and Vintage commercials mag with that old Volvo F88 this month, really good read. The trucks a bit like triggers broom, Bob seems to be a bit of a celebrity and is still going strong, he reckons there is still life in the old girl yet.

That's an amazing story proves that the old simple stuff can be looked after and still be useful.

How long would a modern Lorry last before becoming too expensive to repair with all the modern systems on board?
