Just checked this out- we did a laverda in Madeira 2 years ago that was very hairy but this is worse.

From wikipedia, the government have closed both entrances now as people were dying there.

I guess if you really wanted to risk it you could climb round but stepping on failing concrete is not for the fainthearted.
