Just forgot all his h&s training, ppe and how to use a chainsaw. Not to mention stealing wood. Or is it ok to take wood laying on the side of the road

Well given the choice of, he takes it or the council spend my rates clearing it up, I will help him load it.:thumbup1:

Watch a member of the public chainsaw a fallen tree today. On the corner of a busy road and footpath. No warning sign's no tape no chainsaw trousers or boots but he did have a chainsaw helmet which he never used the visor o and a hi viz vest. So fully covered for h & s. What a Plonka

Oh well, who cares to be quite honest, if that's how he wants to do it, let them crack on with it. The way I see it I couldn't give a toss about other folks H&S procedures(if any), we all make our own choices in life and common sense should prevail- if it doesn't then survival of the fittest:thumbup1:

It wasn't his (on council land) i wouldn't mind but he left all the rubbish. I am all for the untrained idiot hurting themselves, they may learn something or get some proper training

Not say it was my problem its just that the general public think they can help themself to anything. Watched a couple of guys taking wood from a wood which had been recently felled. Both driving posh cars , chainsaw in hand, no ppe on a busy main road. They could at least of asked

Some folks can't stand to think of someone else getting summat for nowt. I picked a big branch up and carried it home today it will keep the fire going for a night when it's cut up and there's a dead tree down just up the road on some grass that the council are ignoring so that looks like it will be coming with me. :D I do have my helmet, boots and husky bib and brace though so I look official ;)

Doesn't really matter though. Crack on with your own work and leave him to it. An awful lot of this on here recently, a tip. If I tell the wife she's doing a shocking job of something she makes me do it. Experience has taught me that it's easier, and I'm better, off keeping my mouth closed:001_smile:

We all did it the same way years ago.

Yep was talking to the younger lads at work the other day and they were on about the lack of ppe used in America etc, I pointed out when I first picked up a saw I was 14 and everyone over here was the same at most they probably had a pair of steelies on :001_cool:
