Nice apple, its difficult to get a realistic shape, try an old twig at an angle as a stalk, and a clove in the other end they look very "real"

 

Thanks, the twig idea looks great will have to give it a go a some point.

i've had some but not turned it. very yellow isn't it.

 

berberis is also yellow but loses it's colour over time.

 

smokebush is fairly yellow too but is usually full of other colours as well.

it's been a while since i put a bowl on here so here is one of my latest commissions...

 

a gorgeous nest of walnut from the tree that cilve shared with me.

 

sizes are, diameter, height

mother bowl, 14 3/4" x 5 1/4"

large, 11 1/4" x 3 3/4"

medium, 8 3/8" x 2 1/2"

small, 6" x 1 1/2"

 

 

as you can see they were all cut from the same block using my bowl saver.
