Regarding extenda dipper, Hitachi made them and I think still does. I had a go on a 8t model couple years ago and was surprised how stable it still was, you could extend out to about 8.5m very quick in and out foot pedal, I tried jerking it while loaded off one side at max reach and it stayed down fine. Looking at spec sheets at the time showed it was down on max load compared to standard fixed boom, but it wasn't silly low. Not sure if they increase counter weight, it looked "normal" from behind.

However, I stuck with standard mono/ long dipper, need all the lift I can get.

Just a few of the Mulching job I'm on at present with the Kubota. This is my second FAE head now and with the tweaks it's now got, it's proving to be a great bit of kit.

The Kubota comes into it's own on this work to be honest.

Looks like you leave a much neater job than the last excavator mulcher I'd had in on a job. A mate of mine is just on mounting a seppi on a 14ton zero tail swing dooson also being set up similar to a harvadig machine to swap about easier which should be a fair machine when done, will get some pictures up next time I'm over his way.

The Two Piece Boom is fantastic in this work, allowing me to tuck in and under without doing damage to the surrounding trees.

This place has been tight at times, and combined with the offset boom it's surprising just where you can get.

How's the Neuson? I think they are about to really take off in the UK, having now established themselves firmly at Stafford with a new HQ, plus a few more dealers about. They look quality kit, not short of metal with plenty of auxiliary pipework available for attachments.

I'll try to get a few images of the finish possible with the FAE, the client here wanted to reseed an area, so I simply spent a little extra time on it, then waited for a reasonable frost to track it in with the Kubota.

He was made up, as there's nothing to do to it but put seed on it now!

I like the Doosan, it should be a great setup when finished. I hear that the Seppi is very popular up north, who's the dealer?

Not sure who the mulcher came from but its being converted by forest machine service in hexam, might have finished it now. The mulcher looks a little smaller than yours but could be deciving with the big toe you have on, what's the reason/use for that?

I really like my Neuson, got it back in 2008, and she's never missed a beat.

Quite thirsty, in my opinion, if shes running full revs all day loading the chipper.

Fast though, plenty power and great oil flow.
