No a companies I’m subbing to on a larger contract.  I get to play in it all day and every time something doesn’t work I get to pass that headache onto the owner?.  It’s a cracking tool, just needs time in the workshop to iron out some gremlins.

Anyone had any contact with the carter brand of excavator's
On paper they seem reasonable well specked.
Looking at adding a 8 - 9 ton to our collection for mostly handling duties

I know more established brands have a good reputation but even second hand with 2000hrs + are fetching more money so is this for good reason [emoji848]

Secondhand market is superheated currently due to BBLs, Brexit and lack of new supply due to Covid. Make sure you factor this in, as I can't see kite flying prices for second hand junk lasting.

 

Personally it would be too big a risk for me. There's just one dealer, he could easily fold as soon as the warranty claims start coming in. Residuals will be low.

 

They just look the worst of the Chinese stuff. And the dealer's spelling doesn't inspire me with any more confidence than I have in the 'hydrolicks' of the machines he's selling. No reflection on your signature- but if you are running a professional business then you should know to employ a proof reader or copyrighter if it isn't your strong point. That's business- play to your strengths. What else might they not be so good at?

If your going to use it for handling the reviews reckon track frames are short, not sure I would risk it, would the warranty be worth paper it’s on and the residual value will be dire,

I wouldn’t want to buy on hp end up owing far more than it’s worth.

no local dealer how long to fix when it breaks especially if you rely on it

Both very good points and ones I'd definitely considered but was after a opinion of anyone who had actually sat in one. We wouldn't be looking at return value too much as would expect any machine to be with us far longer than any hp deal.
Unfortunately due to a 16k repair bill on another machine we missed out on bobcat's 0% in November to put down on a e85 but we are in need of getting something sorted before mid January due to works requiring this size machine.
I did consider hiring to see if the second hand market calms down but getting something to take a grab with twin aux lines and any sort of guarding is close to impossible and the price for the hire over the two - three months would fairly cover the years hp repayments
