Too late in the year for what ?......sloes picked now (we have had a frost) will make excellent sloe Gin for this Christmas.

Tons in Dorset. Ranging from tiny ones to Damson sized monsters. Got two lots on the go.

Just made 2 bottles, strange year this year. Seems to be nothing nothing nothing on the usual bushes then you come across one that's loaded with sloes. I like the idea of stoning the sloes after you've drunk the gin and dipping them in chocolate. My father in law fills the nearly empty bottle (with sloes) with proper cider-highly recommended.

Whih bit of East Yorks? Driffield's fairly bare this year compared to normal.

You don't need to leave them until after the first frost (I just prefer to). Pick them and stick them in the freezer.

Never thought to try with cider,jus pressed some,might add some to it when it's ready and I find some sloes.
