Has anyone got/borrowed/read 'The Art & Science of Practical Rigging'?

Is it worth buying?

I am determined to improve my rigging skills after years of cut and chuck and crash bang wallop. I still think too many people over-rig a lot of the time, but Reg's vids in particular have made me realise that decent rigging is often the quickest way of getting a tree on the ground.

Positive and negative comments welcome. Cheers.

I agree with all the posts above. There's a dvd to go with it but it's just so American it's ridiculous, don't spend money on it... or do, if you want to laugh at/with Rip and Tom...!! :001_smile:

We're looking to hold a rigging workshop/jamboree later this year that will go through the theory as well as the practicalities of simple to advanced techniques of rigging. Keep your eyes open for more info...

Fantastic read, everyone should have a copy. The other one is the tree climbers guide, has a little bit of science in it. Probably also want Arboriculture by Harris, CLark and Mattheny, isbn 0-13-088882-6, more expensive does not do rigging but hits all the science bells
