in my eyes I don't charge m8's and they don't charge me. I had a load of plumbing done by a good m8. weekends work for him with me assisting only charge was for parts and a few beers so when he wanted a new patio doing the same applys . that's just the way I see it anyway

That's great if your mates actually do something useful you can trade work for. My mate wanted some tree work doing, he works in finance dept at council.... £400 as a mates rate would be about right I'd say

A good piece of advice I was given early on.

With mates or family either charge them the going rate or do it for free.

If you charge them mates rates, everyone thinks they're you're mate.

If I'm doing it for free I tell the client to let everyone think I charged them the going price.

Burn it! Otherwise they'll be a mountain of brash or chippings. People forget how efficient burning can be, you don't have to chip all the time.

A friend of mine had some removed a couple of years ago and they charged him £30 for each one removed as small trees. His were a bit more spaced apart than those and the stretch was not as long.
