Technically for h&s purposes it should be a climber and a second climber/groundie for ariel rescue purposes I believe

I am able to get the work, just bit unsure about what to charge as I will need to get loan for chipper.

Sorry, but I don't see how you're able to get the work if you don't know what you're charging - most folk I know won't give you work unless they know what they're being charged.

If you need a loan for the chipper you should be working out what to charge based on the cost of the loan, plus your other day to day operating costs. Work out all you costs, then you can figure what you need to charge. Once you know that you can figure out what you can actually charge, this should tell you whether it's a viable business option.

With that set up I would agree with mark , you'll need to be charging around the £450 mark with truck and chipper

IMO, when it comes to pricing there are two prices, there is the price I would like and there is the price I can do it for, hopefully I win the job for a price some where between the two, ideally nearer the price I would like:thumbup1:

The only way to know the price you can do it for is by working out all your costs and the wage you need to survive.

The price you would like depends on what your aspirations are:thumbup:

Depends, different people charge different prices, usually between 100-150 but as I say, it's all dependant on what the other guy wants.

Are you saying you will do a days work with a chipper for £150 plus another man?? Surely not??

When it comes to pricing i'm finding that rather than price "the job" its more like I can do that in a day £450 thanks very much.

Don't do arb work but I'm the same really, long day or short day is the same. Do freebies for regulars of quick jobs, mostly landlords with dozy tenants, but if a job takes half a day, I charge a day for it. If others want to run around trying to do two jobs in a day to get there money, let em.
