just a thought as i,ve carp fished in around normandy and out of all the bits of france i,ve fished normandy comes tops inc bayer/cean lovely people and slower pace life etc i love the the rustic buildings and old french chateuos sorry spelling etc nice gaff anyways lol

dover castle is 2 mins walk away. with the war time tunnels that is always worth a visit.

 

also got a place called western hieghts, a very old fort a garroson that housed the red coats. with plenty of ww2 and 1 buildings scattered around. well it was the front line of hell fire corner.

 

and i see the castle all the time. just need to look out the front room window.

I would think about the most famous landmark to me would be St Emilion, you would have heard of it if you like a drop of wine.
