just a thought as i,ve carp fished in around normandy and out of all the bits of france i,ve fished normandy comes tops inc bayer/cean lovely people and slower pace life etc i love the the rustic buildings and old french chateuos sorry spelling etc nice gaff anyways lol

dover castle is 2 mins walk away. with the war time tunnels that is always worth a visit.

 

also got a place called western hieghts, a very old fort a garroson that housed the red coats. with plenty of ww2 and 1 buildings scattered around. well it was the front line of hell fire corner.

 

and i see the castle all the time. just need to look out the front room window.

Well, I live pretty much under the shadow of HMP Dartmoor and have been inside to get my ladders back because they were confiscated from some prisoners who saw fit to take them whilst out on a work party:001_rolleyes:

I would think about the most famous landmark to me would be St Emilion, you would have heard of it if you like a drop of wine.

 

And then maybe Talmont.
