Local firewood

I have found an excellent local supplier who delivered 4 builders bags of well seasoned oak and ash pure hardwood for £35 a bag. The logs were cut to less than 10 inches. They are an excellent local company who I’ll be buying from again in the future.

The poor sod.

A. He's supplying you

and more importantly

B. At that price he could have sold the timber content as cordwood for near enough the same money without the hassle of logging it and delivering it. What a complete idiot.

Can I suggest that I'd you don't like what bowlander posts that you ignore him? It's only going to get worse and give the mods more work to do.

Bowlander- if your intention when starting this topic was to get the last word, that is not going to happen. Surely it's time to stop, safe with the knowledge that you have made your point and ruffled a few feathers. The guys who have replied are entitled to their opinion. I have to listen to enough squabbling between my kids and don't want to see this forum lower itself to the level of a 2 and 5 year old.

Have you a contact for your supplier? My brother lives up your way and he's looking for decent dry hardwood logs.

dear bowlander.

i do sympathise with you to a greater extent.

discussed many times on this forum, most can not and do not know the difference between a m3 bag, a builders bag, a tonne bag, ect.

yet to answer point 1. most builders tonne bags are 0.6-0.75 m3 so are faily consistant when loose filled with logs.

That wasn't the issue. The issue was that when he was told frankly and honestly that the builders bag in question held 0.7 cubic metres, he took the wood out, stacked it, measured the stack and declared that he only received 0.4 cubic metres.

Do you sell your wood by the stacked volume?
