Hi,

Late notice for this but my late father was bats-n-trees (Alan) and I know he was a keen member on here for a while discussing ecology and woodland stuff .. he also had a terrible line in bad puns.

He died of larynx cancer in Feb but fought it to the end.

His ashes are up in Herefordshire on the marcle ridge with a 270 degree view of Glos/Herefordshire and Wales.

It would be his 68th birthday next week ... so have a walk in the woods and spot some interesting things for him.

God Bless

Chris

Hello Chris,

I had the pleasure of meeting your father a couple of times.

We shared a few pints in North London one evening having a good banter about all things ecology.

Also shared a good walk around Moccas park on an ATF site visit.

A fine gent and conversationalist and certainly an inspiration.

I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

A sad loss indeed.

My thoughts with you and all his family and friends who I'm sure miss him greatly.

Rest in peace Alan

Alan was a good man, and i regret not getting up to see his turf as I said I would now, but I will go and place a little something at the spot and tip my hat.

My sincere condolences and thank you for letting us know, he was one of the boys in my eyes, had a lot to learn from him too.
