If only logs were sold by some sort of standardised unit for then it would allow easy comparison of products and prices between sellers. It's a lottery as it is.

There is no lottery unless you are trying to get a bargain. You get what you pay for. If I load my 2cu metre body with logs you get 2 cu metres of loose logs. Those 2 cu metre crates in the pic turn in to around 3 cu metres when loose.

We sell our logs at £50 for 250 logs , £100 for 500 logs . Mixed hard and softwood . All these loads are accurate to about 10 logs either way . We have bays set up which hold our smallest load of 250 logs . I have found new customers understand x amount of logs better than they do the cubic metre . Please bear in mind our logs come from Tree Work which is our main income and we do not buy in timber . All I want out of my log sales is my yard rent paid and a couple of holidays per year .

I sell 250 logs for £10.

Mind you, they are a bit on the small side.
