as other posts nothing new. father in law said that a lot of beech trees are past there best. due to under management of them. the tree that fell did it have the black spot in middle. most we cut up which had fallen had the black spot in middle

Quite so, sounds to me like someone with responsibility for trees that was embarrassed by a failure, trying to convince people that it wasn't his fault

I also think he's confusing sudden branch drop with total tree failure:confused1:

but you have to consider what was said and what was actually reported too.
