I have a run to Wyke end of July, considering taking the wife and making a short break of it.

My interests are industrail heritage/archology/canal stuff lubricated with Proper Ale/decent English Bitter.

Wifes are gardens, gardens and more gardens fuelled by Thorntons ice cream.

Always makes me laugh when I see the Bradford tourist destinations board on the m62, if I was a tourist I'd not be stopping near Bradford. Bad enough working there occasionally, put angle iron round your van and hold on!

thanks Dean,

Perhaps I should take the 50 kg Bastard Mastiff instead o the Mrs.

He likes to sleep in the Car.

Plus he is old, grumpy and expendable.

(but, sigh, the wife says the same of me)

cheers

Oakworth, near Keighley was the station used in the railway children. You can have a ride on a steam train.... You're not a million miles from Beamish. Just don't go into Bradford! Trip to Wensleydale, blacksheep brewery tour, lots of cheese. Aysgarth falls are nice to look at too. More fun in high water with a kayak though!

The best thing about Bradford is the road out of it, take the one marked Leeds and go to the royal armouries.

Pop over through Huddersfield and try the canal and countryside museum at Marsden, it's the Yorks end of the Huddersfield narrow Canal tunnel, if you get that far have a drive over the Stanage road and drop into Uppermill for retail therapy, if you get to Uppermill I will put the kettle on for you.

There is only one place in the world I wont service a generator. Bradford, been there twice in 30 years both times came home without glass in the cab. You could visit the mosques or try foreign cuisine.
