Stolen Hens

A friend of mine who lives in Norfolk had some of his chickens stolen from just outside of his on a Tuesday and apparently they were sold at a local poultry market on the Wednesday . This is happening quite a bit I believe and guess who's doing the dirty deed

I`ve heard the same over here in north wales, people having their stock robbed the day/night before the poultry sale in chelford auction.

Had some kids on mopeds trying to raid our little egg honesty box the other night. All for the odd couple of quid thats ever in their. It's over on the corner about 200 yards away from our garden and we were out having tea with the kids. We heard the mopeds and had be warned about this group so when we heard them rock up my missus starts yelling at them. I'm half cut already but set off across the field after my 8 year old boy, bless him. Not sure what he thought he was going to do. I'm shouting things you shouldn't in front of the kids and they scarper, at least 2 of them do. The other cant get his bike started. So I jump over the gate and must have had death in my eyes as he looked like crapping himself.

But what could I do? Nothing missing and he tells me he's lost. I give him pretty clear directions back to town and let him know I've got his plate. Our police lady says she's had a word with him and his mates and hopefully they won't be back.

The irony is I spoke to my neighbour the next day and it turns out the little buggers ran out of petrol outside his place and he filled them up from his chainsaw can...............

Still kids is one thing, if you are still pulling this kind of stuff when you are grown up you need whacking.

Now that tale made me laugh.

We need nationally to have a concentrated effort to hassle these people.

Tax inspectors to start with, vans and big caravans are not cheap and usually all paid for in cash. VAT inspectors, school attendance people, etc etc etc. Confiscate anything major that cant be proved to have been paid for with tax paid funds.

But that must work both ways. I've a friend who some years ago, was bequeathed enough money to pay for his first car. Now are you suggesting that he ought to have his vehicle confiscated, just because his granny squirrelled away here and there for years?

It depends. Did she live in a caravan and steal things for a living?

Couldn't agree more. We need them to be intimidated, not the other way around.

They turned up in my village a couple of years ago. Went through all the gardens and stashed the stuff up in the churchyard.

Lad up the end of the village (a chippie), woke up at 4.30 and went down to put the kettle on. As he was filling the kettle he looked out of the window to see some bloke peering in through his workshop windows. He opened the back door to challenge the guy, and was told "F*** off, or I'll F***ing do you".

Being a sensible sort of lad, he went back in and shut the door.

Meanwhile his missus is on the phone to the police, who tell her there is no one in the area, and it could be an hour or more before anyone can respond.

The thieving **** outside is still trying to get in the workshop (can you believe it).

So the homeowner unlocks his gun cabinet, loads up and goes back out, screaming blue murder.

His missus says to the police operator, "Oh it's OK, they're going, my husband is now chasing them up the lane with his shotgun"

Within 5 minutes there were 4 police cars in the village.

Funny that.
