Loved the period! I had a couple of Austin Princess' that I raced at a small Banger circuit. Cannot remember when I last saw a wedge!

 

Had a Lancia Beta HPE for a "daily" after a couple of years with a MK1 RS2000 which had been a race car!

Bmx mag wheels, I was told if they got buckled you could put them in a chest freezer and they would true themselfs but never had them to be able to test the theory. where's myth busters when you need them :biggrin:

 

Oh god those wheels were great and you were SO cool if you had some.

I used to love kick start and watching the wrestling at Saturday tea time. I had a grifter and roller boots I can remember going to roller discos at my local sports Center, does anyone remember sweets called spangles ?

Yeah I remember spangles, that was a good wee song and I remember all the things on it, can anyone remember the ready break add with the boy glowing that never worked as I still had to scrape the ice of the INSIDE of the house windows :001_rolleyes:

Spangles... they were square and flat, with rounded corners and a little dip in the middle if I remember right. Think they were wrapped in that shiny greasy paper which would not come off if they had got too hot in your pocket.

yeah Stephen, Tom Sharpe wrote it in the 70's and it was adapted for a TV series in the mid 80's I think. Hilarious.

I read most of Tom Sharpes books after watching 'blot'
