Seen all four, saw the first swift of the year when i was walking down the trailway, it was miles up but was unmistakable. Was happy to see my first Sand Martin in March but everything is about 2 weeks behind i think because of the recent cold spell.

saw the first swallow on the 11th which is a bit early around these parts normaly a week later. but going towards houghton nr stockbridge saw a flock aprox 30 sitting on the telephone wires flew off as i got near and went hunting along the test, still to hear a cuckoo. getting worried is there voice becoming a rare thing now. though i would of heard one on the test with all the warberlers nesting in the reeds. over that way next week will have to keep a ear out for one

Swallows are just starting to build in numbers now here. Swifts will arrive on the high warm winds soon. Heard a cuckoo this morning along with plenty of chiffchaffs, willow warbler and a grasshopper warbler.
