I think once it reaches 10,000 views it should be nuked. Everyone has had their say, nothing new has been said for a while, now it's just kind of scraping the barrel trying to find insults and then people reacting to it.

Well I have! She was a saviour to this country, sure the miners could of been dealdt with differently, but she kicked the crap out of the unions who were slowly killing this country, rather like todays health & safety, benefit scroungers, drug dealers ,compensation claims etc

My old mans always said that... And in his words scargil had the country by the nads and no democracy can allow that

Seems the soldiers stationed in the Falklands nicknamed the local Islanders "Bennys".

This went on for quite some time until the Col. enquired:

Why?

After the Adj had managed to explain about Crossroads and the role Benny played therein, it finally "clicked" with the Col.

So it was up on Part 1 Orders.

This practice will cease, immediately.

A short time later the self same Col. overheard some of his staff reffering to the Islanders as "Stills".

#

On once again asking the Adj what this was short for, or why?

The Adj straightfacedly explained, that............. well.............. Sir..................... they are STILL Benny's.

Arnt they?

I understand the Col persued the issue no furthur.

Seems strange that considering that Mrs T was democratically elected 3 times, how come so much time is given listening to the minority?

Typically the ones who do the shouting, rioting and generally kicking off are not the majority but the minority that cant live within the rules of democracy!!

Mrs T saved our nation, plain and simple, she put the 'Great' back in Britain. It's about time that people showed some respect. As for all the anti war rhetoric, i've met only a few servicemen/women who had bad words about her. Generally she was loved and respected!!You will never see balls that big on a woman again, well apart from that woman I saw in Thailand...but thats another story!!:001_smile:

Funny, I never met anyone serving in Scotland who got stung for the poll tax for the pleasure of living in barracks who had a good word for her. Just after that went pear, we had an armed forces pay review for our branch as so many were leaving for 4 times the pay in civi street, got a glowing review recommending a 30% special service pay increase for the whole branch, result was a pay decrease! (2% less than inflation).

Still, I raised a glass to the old goat, tho I won't repeat the toast
