If you look hard enough you'll still find a new ms460 but as pointed out above a 660 with a 25" bar is managable but has the benefits of running bigger bars. But a 660 is a big saw not a medium to large saw. To be fair if you aim for a ms200/201, ms361/2 or a ms391 and a ms660 you'll have 99% of situations covered.

576xp or ms461 for climbing duties, 90cc+ is a bit overkill when both these saws can handle 25" bars easily.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the 461 yet, no one on arbtalk has given a review yet - does anyone have one?

Persuaded Dad to get one after his saws walked last time. I haven't used it yet but it does look like a very nice saw.

Im a self empoyed climber that uses other firms machinery. Gonna get myself a med/lrg saw that can tackle most things. Ive always used a ms460 and thought it was great but they now unavaliable to buy new. Ive heard a few dodgy things about the 461 but wondered what people reckon on here. Thought about a 560xp but dunno weather it would be big enough to handle a larger fell. Just need a good all rounder.

any advice??:confused1:

Cool, make a 461 review thread once you've used it for a few weeks :thumbup1:
