thats funny. I've had problems starting my 395XP and my 357XP when using the Stihl red mix. I only use bio/low smoke 2 stroke now. Also, I used to use other people fuel when freelancing and ended up seizing up a 357XP due to a bad mix. Stihl saws are a bit less fussy on the mix, but Husky's can indeed be a problem. My MS201T runs on anything...except Aspen...yet my MS200T loves the stuff!

Well I have been told again today by one of the bosses employes that continual use of stihl oil will seize my saw up in a matter of weeks!! Then the climber I was working with said said just use their fuel, that's what it's there for hahaha

Nothing other than that and it's only the boss and his first hand that have said it, the rest just say it doesn't really matter

I have always used other peoples mix. Regardless of brand.

Regarding the comments about saws seizing etc and only using your own mix...

Not one of the guys I work for have had saws seize on them, so it isn't a worry for me.

Used a 2stroke/diesel mix for a short while recently. Employee picked up the wrong jerry to top-up the combi can. Saws still work fine although they did smoke a bit!
