As I said earlier, this can be argued, but its better to do something than nothing? No?

 

My understanding is that much of the money raised is given as loans to individuals for them to start micro businesses.

 

a few micro businesses will never make these African economies grow to such a level where they could make any meaningful change in the levels of poverty because the main foreign aid (from western governments) that goes direct to African governments is used for corrupt purposes

 

the aid from things like comic relief and Live Aid is a sticking plaster

Well apparently £75m was raised yesterday which is good....if alot of it isn't lost through pr, admin etc etc.

Unfortunately that amount is like sticking a plaster on Dave D's stumpgrinder wound.
