That was a good PSA For contacting emergency services. Our 911 serves the same needs

here stateside. Good to know for my next trip just in case. FYI, PSA means Public Service Announcement.

i normally take a sat phone with me when i know i can't get a signal but its packed out on me so got to get a new one but they are pricey now days

All my mobiles have always said "emergency call only" when there is no signal.

 

Why would they pre-program SIM cards with 112 (which is not that well known) instead of 999????????

My bloody phone won't send a text to 112 as it regards it as an invalid number. Stupid smart phones!
