Apologies TCD... i've caved in and decided to order a 550XPG!

 

Obviously a light saw but i'm as always disappointed with standard Husky bars, i've got a unit only price from FRJ and it leaves me with about £45 to get a 15" bar and chain, not fussed if it's more, i'm averaging on standard retail prices of the saw with a 15" bar & chain.

 

So, Oregon ProLite, any good? I reckon the PowerMatch will be too heavy...

Go for the pro lite you could buy two for the price of a powermatch there both good qaulity bars.

Trouble is they are heavy; I've got a lovely 18" sugi and on the kitchen scales comes up a decent lump heavier than a equvilent stihl bar. Saying that the Oregon is between the two I think; must admit I like pro-lite - always good service from a £ per inch bar.

Dont both with prolites they won't stand upto the speed of the saw. Powermatch all the way, or sugihara. My 560 was going through a prolite every few days in conifer thinning, newer ones seem rubbish compared to how they used to last

I've been hammering an 18 prolite for for a couple of months - can't phase it; paint barely touched too...

Very pleased with my Sugihara from Rob D. Much better than my Husky bar.
