As of the 1st of January 2013, the installation of oil-fired boilers and natural gas heating is banned in new buildings in Denmark. Starting 2016, the Danes will also ban the installation of new oil-fired boilers in existing buildings in areas where district heating or natural gas is available.

So they must all be changing to biomass or heat pumps?

This page gives a good idea of how the Danes keep themselves warm Basic facts on Heat Supply in Denmark

To quote from the article:

HEATING DENMARK'S 2.5 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS

Electric heat: 6%

Oil: 18%

Natural gas: 15%

DH without electricity generation: 4%

Co-generated heat and electricity in small and medium-sized cities: 17%

Co-generated heat and electricity in large cities: 37%

Heat pumps: 0.4%

Solid fuel: 3%

... so only 18% of the heating energy will have to be converted to other sources over the next 15 years, or so. Quite achievable considering 1%/year.
