Petzl caritool

Have been using caritools for a long time, the first couple broke when hanging the big saw in it (MS640)

 

I switched over to using them upside down and later when the big caritool was introduced I started using it upside down as well. It's ideal for clipping in the chainsaw one handed, for getting it out you still have to use both hands. The bigger one won't break !

 

I you use the upside down the motion of clipping in the saw is way better for me and it prevent you from having to use two hands or just one hand on a small biner to clip it in.

 

Fixed them on my sequoia and TM saddle and they sure are great tools to have around.

I lost count of the number of times I clipped myself to an electric pole stay today!

I zip clipped my gate permanently open to make it that little bit easier to use,as i have a touch of rhumetism in my right hand,and every little helps.

Anyone ever accidentally clip their lanyard into their caritool instead of the D ring by mistake?

Yep, clipping on off a ladder.

Leant back and fell arse over tit into a bush. Lucky really. Decided I didn't need a Caritool on the left as well as the right anymore....

Me neither...

 

I clipped my lanyard into my caritool once as a kind of breakaway system when I didn't really trust the piece I was rigging off and tied to. I then forgot about how I was tied in and disconnected my rope whilst only tied in by the caritool. Stupid mistake and one I won't make again.

great tool, does snag up a bit as i have the large one, but its great to keep your saw next to you when moving around!

I know one shouldn't laugh at anothers misfortune but thats a great image!

 

Lucky it wasn't serious! Luckily i was only using my lanyard for positioning so just had a wee swing.

 

Its a great bit of kit but sometimes it get me grinding my teeth!

They wont go on the willans harness, well they will if your willing to break them getting them on or put them in a really useless place.
