  3. Sharpen until they are to an absolute minimum little triangle keep those rakers down every now and then and you'll get max sawing miles out of your chain ;-)
  4. Vw golf 5, 4motion 1.9 TDI Loads of grip ! Great acceleration, plenty of room, reliable, and very high milage out of one tank of gasoline. Only thing, we have got the sport edition with absolutely minimum of ground clearance........so after driving around muddy dirtroads home with the landcruiser 100 and switching over to the family 4 motion....try to remember nog to go into the deep muddy parts...you'll get stuck !
  5. Ha ha ha the T536Lixp is the saw you need to own and once you have used it you'll be addicted to it ;-) Just like wolter and me, we are absolutely and totally addicted to the new battery power !
  6. Seems like You are def a Stihl man ! My 3 540t saws all run Nice and only the small filler opening is something i can agree with. Take your saw to the husky shop and let them work it out ;-)
  7. Over here in the Stihl shop they are modding all the new saws on the shelves right now. They won't sell an unmodded saw anymore cause of all the troubles they had to deal with the last two years with this 201 T. I don't know if this modification is EPA approved and hits the US market ? Just ask your lokal dealer ! I'm just an arborist climbing trees whole days and had the opportunity to do some testing for Husqvarna and Stihl, trying to figure out wich saw works best. I'm def not an expert on saw mods or knowledge about worldwide distribution policy ......
  8. The original modification that is done on this saw by a Stihl shop is available since half october over here. The ignition flywheel and ignition are changed, a new carburator and mine has a original magnum exhaust. Drilling holes in the exhaust will only make it noisier. Get a proper exhaust or just stick to the standard. The only mods done here are original stihl mods....only thing I wonder if the saw is as clean as it was supposed to be after these mods ;-)
  9. Original stihl modification available since last week, new ignition flywheel and carburator. There's also a magnum exhaust on this perticular one. The cylinder has been modficated earlier when you take out the exhaust there's a marking on the round cylinder wall just under the exhaust port where you can see if it has the proper cylinder mod allready, every mark starting from the letter C is good, a B means the cylinder has to be replaced if you want your saw to work best ;-) Climb safe

  11. I have been (ab)using the T540 XP since november 2012 and been happy with it ever since. Never ever had a chainbrake snapped and no problems with the eyelet. I have put this saw to the test for Husqvarna and used it just like I used my other saws before. Great power and the torque is even better compared to the old 200 T. What happended to your saw is not good, and def needs to be sorted out by your husqvarna dealer. But when you handle the saw like a canonbal dangling around on its tail, like some climbers do I am not surpised somethings broke. But can't read or insinuate that just by your story. Even the best chainsaw can't withstand being trashed trough the canopy like a canonball aye Hope you will have everything sorted out and keep on smiling using this saw someday in the future ! Climb safe
  12. The cinch with a dynamic rope doe it for me, great as lanyard both on the d rings as on the central point in SRT modus. Use the beal unicore for it, nice rope and never slips.
  13. I have been testing the T540 since november 2011 and here's a little impression vid I made some time ago, I reckon you all will enjoy ;-)
  14. Don't forget the dynastat is static and with a fall it will become dynamic. That's why it is certified for both EN numbers ;-) It costs some more and handles nice.
