I've been having oiling trouble. I put a little petrol in the oil tank and it started coming out straight away do I put some oil back in and it stopped. I wonder if a thinner oil is the answer? What is the thinnest oil? Cooking oil?

8mm hole in near the top left of the exhaust..photo bucket quality is crap so its hard to make out.

I timed one second off the cut on a 5" peice of wood with the mod.. The saw breaths so much better !! its really stuffed up standard , you can see the deposits the exhaust was building up it discharged from the new exit hole as well.

I want to do this to mine, does it matter if you get the hole in the wrong place as I cant make out where it is from your photo Matty. Is it the hole looking part nearer to the spark plug?

Yes in the top left in that sort of lower middle box on the exhaust. . I had a good check over it last night and there is no damage at all to the side cover after months on of hard use from doing the mod , just for the record if any body's interested !

I can try and remember to get some clearer pics to make it more visible if you need? But its a big hole at 8mm ! If you put that photo next to your saw it should be evident !

How are people finding them oiling now? If you took yours back to have the oiler changed, did it work? Mine uses about 3 tanks of fuel to one tank of oil!

Mine got tweaked by spud and is now epic. Will play quite happily in 10" cuts but is great for reducing trees. Revs up instantly and is like a mini 200t!

Mine is the rear handle version and its just awesome. It goes through anything I throw at it. Used it to log up some hefty pieces of oak, cherry, tulip and plum and it happily rips through no problem. Using it on Rhodie tomorrow.

Fuel to oil ratio it's about 1 to 1 (1 tank fuel to 1 tank chain oil)
