how ever our need for a mog is because we spend roughly 70% of our time off road working where the need for a machine that carries a chipper , collects that chip and can get almost anywhere is essential these are all things that when all put together equates to only a mog being able to do the job

Or...........

It ensures that vehicles on the road are maintained better than "I will fix that when it drops off" mentality

I have to ensure that it is road worthy , i do not need to have it inspected as i do not opperate an o licence , and as said before , vosa have accepted that a mog is a forestry vehicle and is exempt from plaiting and testing

no, you miss under stood, do you service & check the mog yr sen or do you have a mechanic do it for ,requirment or not

That only applies to o licence... checked on time scale or mileage...

Ag vehicle has to be road worth yes. But checks are left o owner and not specified like above.

i never specified that ,i asked how often he has it servied and checked by a compitent person , ie a mechanic ,

Fair enough but instead of O license hassle could work towards it with MOTs 1st. For some reason farmers are turned a blind eye on, with operating weights, vehicle speeds, kids driving far bigger than legally allowed, rebated fuel, working hours etc. Fert bags swinging on front of telehandlers on dual carriageways with no beacon. As mentioned many times O for a level playing field. Thats were the fix it when its broke mentality is plentiful.

No disrespect to the professional farmers that operate well.

ahh yeah we service the mog regularly (every 3 months) so it gets looked over when servicing, mogs really are not that complex or expensive to look after if you accept having to spend money to get it into shape from the outset

thats the 1, do you keep records by any chance , may be handy if yr pulled
