Has any one any knowledge of these trucks please , just bought it today and i think its about 15 years old 2L diesel possibly a turbo, I tried to Google them with not much luck, I did see on one site that the engine could be from a Mercedes ? or is that wishful thinking, running gear ? I know they are thought of being a bit like Skoda's . I haven't driven it but it started from cold and sounded ok, I do know its history. Any help please , and I will post tomorrow its age, and if it gets back to the yard. :thumbup1:

I think their main problem was rust, if its been treated with wax oil and looked after it could be an OK truck.

I think they now own landrover.

Tata = Tata Steel = bought British steel

and i tink they also bought JLR

So not to be sniffed at.:thumbup1:

and

yes I believe they used a outdated/superceeded MB engine built under licence.

I also tink that one of their vehicles was a poor(er) copy of der "G" Wagen.

Good luck.

Knew a guy who ran one a couple of years back. From what I remember it was a 51 plate and he was having to get Peugeot parts for it, alternator anyway I think. Don't know if the rest of it was Peugeot or not.

I know the electrics are lucas, the only problem is they are lucas india so are expensive.

Or they were on the one I know of that had a new starter motor on it.

There was a Tata dealer just up the rd, the term used was ' scrap ' lol

That was the term I had heard , rust being the big problem, but this one's no teabag. :001_smile:
