I was only joking, nice meet a chap though who has experienced the curtains stuck to the widows [frost], I have.......and I wouldn't change my experiences for anything..right Graham?

Starting at 12 years old, day in day out week in week out , my old man used to look after some blokes pigs, probably a smallholder, he used to cut up old tyres with an old suger beat knife, use the cut bits of tyres to get a fire going, he'd the get a big old copper on the boil and cook up a load of old feed spuds, rain , shine, frost, snow, those pigs got fed, he was as said 12 years old, I can tell tales regarding old country farming people that would make the young of todays hair stand on end....how things have changed from his generations day, if we ever get invaded I think I'll just surrender, can't see this generation being up to much, not exactly got the Dunkirk spirit...

 

Do you know London buses didn't even stop when Fritz was blitzing London , in WW2, I bet those old dead bus drivers are turning in there graves today!

well there has been a bit more than a few inchs today, seen evidence of 12inchs

 

Also the current Health and saftey regime would have risked it off before even starting the engines for the buses and alot of working folk!

 

We coped and never put the truck in 4x4 but there you go

It's crazy watching the news, up here it's normal to have snow for 5-6weeks a year[getting less!!] we're used to it and driving in it, there's nothing to it , you just go slower!!!

I've had it down to -6 in the KITCHEN when I was in the bothy, also the bog froze so you had to pour boiling water down the pan before you had a ****!!!!

Glad I was there,

Wouldn't go back though!!

 

I feel sorry for the kids on tv , trying to sledge with no snow.

Maybe not , but would it harm them if you did? do children these days not need to appreciate the simpler things in life [i'm talking about my kids too], imo if you can't/don't appreciate the simple things you'll never appreciate the finer things life has to offer..

Took the kids a run and got stuck, we had to walk 2 miles home for the Mog:thumbdown:

 

That was a couple of years ago, now they refuse to come with me:sad:
