Doing my accounts for the last 9 months.

 

We have Landrover and TW190 and Iveco with TW250, 4x4 and stump grinder.

 

It costs us: BEFORE WAGES £336 per working day! How does that compare?

 

That is without any major purchases or depreciation included..

That includes my new chipper finance, public libility, accountant, bank charges, truck insurance, truck breakdown, fuel, breakages and spares, my phone, my yard is free so im lucky there.

fair play to you then- keeping your outgoings to a minimal is the way to go IMO, Its no good stressing out over high overheads- takes the fun out of the job.

As said, that sounds right for two teams and an extra truck and grinder.

 

Dartmoor- I think you and I are both more machine owner operators than running large teams. Different ball game.

Our insurance is 15euros per day (based on average number of days worked)

We spend far too much on fuel/travel around 60euros

Almost 10euros on publicity

It is going to be a real shock to find out in May just how much our new limited company has cost to run.

I think it depends a lot on how wide you spread your net. The more you do= more costs but maybe less downtime as you change workload according to the seasons.

Our fixed costs are scarry but not as scarry as yours Ben. Thats around £80K p.a.

That works out as less then £7,500 a year, assuming you work 5 days a week and have holidays..

 

We spent about £10K last year on fuel.

That don't arf sound like a lot... thats 7k a month before wages..... we don't spend that and we run 5 vans...
