Reckon you're right, Jon. The owner's mother lives in the main house on the estate where I work and she enjoys seeing the wildlife outside the windows. :001_smile:

I've noticed though with so many birds feeding that Kestrels and Sparrowhawks hang around too :001_cool:

For my location here in the States it is Coopers hawks. But I don't worry there are plenty of House sparrows to feed him/her. :001_smile:

Believe me mate, they do all right where I work . I'm in the lucky position of working for a family who are very pro-wildlife and open to different ways of encouraging and supporting a variety of species. It's great to have a free hand with regards to habitat creation, including dead tree retention. :thumbup1:

We feed all year round as well, had a hell of a selection, yesterday. Blue, Great Tits, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Chaffinch, Long tailed tits, Robin, Blackbirds, Wrens, Woodpecker, Sparrow, Nuthatch, even a couple of Fieldfare's. And a couple of cock pheasants, who will now be on the menu later in the week.

Should add, well away from the shooting coverts, so fair game in my book.
